Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. She began her Broadway career performing in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has collaborated with numerous acclaimed actors and directors in stage films and television. Her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford's upcoming production will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This film is set to be a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. In the month of March, 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was a part of Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the national story of a scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other major character. Two seasons ago, Ashford was an actor on the popular CBS show B Positive. The show was co-created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also starred Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Other Broadway performances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her performance as Lauren on Kinky Boots. For this performance, she won a Tony Award nomination. Growing up in Denver Ashford currently splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
